Cardinal

Cardinals can equally be used for both the genders and change forms for case – direct and oblique. Except, ਇੱਕ ikk ‘one’, which is in singular number, all the remaining cardinals (ਦੋ ‘two’, ਪੰਜ pañj ‘five’, ਅਠਾਰਾਂ aṭhārāṃ ‘eighteen’ etc.) are in plural number.

Various forms of plural cardinal ਅਠਾਰਾਂ aṭhārāṃ ‘eighteen’ are ਅਠਾਰਾਂ aṭhārāṃ (direct case), ਅਠਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ aṭhārhāṃ (oblique case), and ਅਠਾਰ੍ਹੀਂ aṭhārhīṃ (emphatic form - locative case).
